Welcome back everyone! Yesterday was December 1st and that means Simon released DieCember products. Lots and lots of gorgeous dies. You agre with me right? I am very excited to be part of Simon Says Stamp DieCember release blog hop. Today is day #1.
I have a set of cards to share using one of the gorgeous dies from the release. This die is called Shimmer Snowflakes die. OMG! This die incredibly gorgeous. It is a two set die. One cuts out the outline of the snowflakes and the other the details. This die is big enough to just die cut using shimmer cardstock or glitter cardstock to be used as ornaments on your Christmas tree. So beautiful. I did diecut the die using glitter cardstock but made a set of cards instead because I don’t have a Christmas tree at home. Here are the set of cards.
I basically die cut the Shimmer Snowflakes die using Simon’s gold glitter cardstock five times. Then I die cut five wonky stitched rectangle panels using five different coloured cardstocks. Using the outline of the Shimmer Snowflakes die, I die cut the centres of all the panels. I spattered each panel with gold spatter using gold watercolour and also gold heat embossed the edges of the panel. Then lined with vellum behind each panel. On the top where I die cut the Shimmer Snowflake die, I inlaid the gold glitter snowflakes die. The gold from snowflakes, the gold spatter and the gold edges of the panels all tie in. I adhered the panels on its respective card bases using foam adhesives.
For the sentiment, I used an older stamp set called Essential Greetings. I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock, die cut using Simon’s Labels dies, trimmed, heat embossed the edges using gold embossing powder and adhered on the centre of the panel using foam adhesive. Finally a few white glossy drops scattered around to tie in the white sentiment strips to finish off the cards. Here are the photos of the individual cards and closeups
