Happy Tuesday and 1st of October! October already! Anyway, hope you enjoyed the two projects I share yesterday using new products from Taylored Expressions October release. Today I have two more projects to share with you today. Without further delay, here is my first project.
My first project showcases the new Pine Clippings dies and Layer It Cardinal die. I love the cardinal die. Layering the details adds depth and detail making the cardinal look real like.
I die cut the Pine Clippings using the Basil cardstock twice. Then the cardinal using Mulled Wine, Watermelon and Oreo cardstock. The Watermelon cardstock is new this release. It is a beautiful bright red perfect for making Christmas cards. I assembled and glued the cardinal. Its is very easy. I also added some shimmer to the cardinal. For the sentiment , I stamped and die cut the sentiment from the new Handlettered Sentiment Holiday 2.
For the background panel, I used the Snow Flurry stencil and applied blue embossing paste over to add subtle texture and dimension. I used Toffee cardstock for both background panel and card base. I roughed the panel edges with scissors before adhering to the card base. Then I adhered the cardinal and the sentiment using foam adhesive with pine clippings behind them. Love layering the dies. Finally a few white nuvo drops randomly scattered to mimic snow flakes to finish off the card.
The second project uses the new border dies. I used the new Border Builder Evergreens and Border Builder Home Sweet Home dies and the new Inside Bracket Stacklets to make a diorama card.
You will find many many tutorials on youtube on how to make these diorama cards. So I will not go into the measurements and making of this card here today. I will say it is pretty simple to make.
To add to the depth and dimension of this card, I sponged all the border die cuts with a shade darker ink and also spattered the whole dioarama with Copic Opaque white for the snow effect. The sentiments are from Simple Strips Holidays stamp set which I previous stamped on watermelon cardstock and die cut using Simple Strips die. For the background sky, I sponged some blue TE dye inks using TE blender brushes. I will list all the ink colours I used in the supply list below.
I just wanted to make a different card using the border dies than just layering them flat on a card. This diorama card does fold flat and fits inside a regular envelope.
