Believe in You Release Blog Hop!

July 26, 2019 Simon Says Stamps

Hey friends, Today is day #1 of Simon Says Stamp’s Believe in You release. I am super excited to be part of the blog hop. I cannot wait to share my projects using the new products from the new release.

Celebrate You_Blog Hop_1080

The Believe in You collection was released yesterday. So all products in this release and the ones I have used for projects today are available for purchase at Simon Says Stamp Store. There are some amazing stamp sets, dies and stencils among others in the release. Ok without further adieu, here is my first project for the hop.

For You card

For this card, I used the new Scallop Waves background stamp, Greetings Mix 1 and Sunflower Frame die from the release. I stamped the background using Scallop Waves background stamp and pigment inks. I wanted to give my pigment inks some love. Hence the choice.

I die cut four of the Sunflower frames die, sacked and glued for dimension. My initial thoughts were to back the frame die with gold glitter card panel. But there was too much warm colours in the background that the gold glitter got lost. Hence I changed to colouring the petals the same colour as the colours on the background panel. I like this better.

Sentiment I simply stamped in black on white cardstock and used the smallest nest circle die also from Simon to die cut it out. A few sequins to finish off the card.

For the second project, I used the new Faceted Stripes stencil. I love this stencil. So stylish, geometical and modern. Will make a great background for floral cards. On my project today, I wanted to highlight the stenciled background. Hence kept the rest of the card simple.

Thank you card

I masked the stencil using masking tape to expose one triangle at a time to sponge distress inks in ombre. I chose Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Candied Apple, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry. Then covered the entire panel with Nuvo Moonstone glimmer paste. OMG! the panel is so gorgeous. The photo does not do justice. And I have a very overcast day and lighting is artificial light. But the colours, texture and sparkle is amazing. This is what I had in mind when I first saw this stencil. So happy to put thoughts into paper.

I just trimmed the panel and adhered on the card base using foam adhesives. The sentiment is from Greetings Mix 1 which I white heat embossed on black cardstock, die cut using Label die and adhered on the top centre of the panel. A few black sequins ties in all the black elements together with contrast.

I will list all the supplies I used to make these two cards towards the end of the post. Now to blog hop nitty gritty.
