A catalogue of Papercraft

Hello!

July 10, 2019 Altenew

Hope you are having a wonderful week! It is winter school holidays here. You know when you have children in school, all your routine revolves around school and school holidays. This will be the last one for me or rather for my daughter. She is in year 12 and my last child in school. So after she finishes school this year, no more school holidays for me or her. My routine will no longer follow school routine. I will have readjust to the change. I am not sure how I will feel about it. Anyway, there is still three more months until change occurs. Will deal with it then.

Rant aside, Hello and welcome! I am Gayatri, a papercrafter. Today’s project is my last one for Level 2 ACEP program from Altenew. I am so happy I took the program. I learned a lot of new techniques and refresh on the ones I already knew. So well worth it. My last class for the program is Creative Watercolor Class. I didn’t know that I could use Altenew’s inks to watercolour. I thought although they were dye inks, they don’t react with water. What was I thinking? Glad I now know Altenew inks can be used to watercolour. And did just that with my project today. Here is the card.

ACEP Creative Watercolor Media card

I used Rosie Posy mini stamp set to make this card. The intention was to stamp the entire background. But then after stamping a few accidentally diagonally, I love how it looked. So I stopped stamping. Then I used Altenew’s inks from Warm and Cozy, Tropical Forest and Tea Party ink sets to add colours to the background and to the stamped floral images.

For the background, I did the smooshing technique. I smooshed the inks on the craft mat, sprayed with water and smooshed the stamped panel on the ink. I repeated this technique for three colours. I used Sunkissed, Coral Blur and Bamboo inks. Between each ink, I dried the panel.

Used the darker shade of inks to colour the stamped images. I smooshed Parrot, Olive, Autumn Blaze and Heartbeat inks on the craft matt, added water and using the brush, I coloured the flowers and leaves. This makes the stamped images pop off the background. Once dry, I added shimmer to all of them.

The sentiment from the same mini stamp set is stamped using black ink. I trimmed the panel and adhered to the kraft card base. A few white Nuvo crystal drops to complete the card.

I really love the artistic feel the smooshing and shading of stamp images gives to the card. Hope you like it too. All supplies used to make this card are listed below.
