I am in the mist of making some projects for a new release coming later this month. But I got distracted and made a card which was not related to the ones I was working on. This happens all the time because an idea pops up and I have to put it to paper before it disappears from my memory. So now I am able to share this card with you.
Helo and welcome! I am Gayatri a papercrafter. Today’s card is a floral card with a lot of masking technique and colouring involved. I used Simon Says Stamp products here. One stamp set is a new release for this month called Ornate Alphabets stamp set. I paired this set with the Delicate Flowers stamp set which came with the April card kit. This set is available separately as well.
I created the masks for Y, O, U and all the flowers. Then I stamped the YOU first on a white panel using copic friendly black ink using MISTI. Then masked them to stamp the flower, mask and stamp the leaves one cluster at a time. I removed the masks to reveal the whole stamped cluster.
Next I coloured the whole cluster using copic markers. For the flowers, I used V12, V15, and V17. G00, G03, G05 and G07 for the leaves, Y08 for flower centre, RV04, RV06, YR04, YR07 for the YOU sentiment. I also outlined the entire cluster with C03 and C01 to add shadow. To add details to the images, I used white gel pen
I pondered between a white heat embossed sentiment on a black strip of cardstock or stamp the sentiment directly on the panel. I chose to stamp the sentiments because I did not want to go through the process of heat embossing as it was not my day for it. I used MISTI to stamped the secondary sentiment directly on the panel. The sentiments are from Delicate Flowers stamp set.
I trimmed the panel and adhered to the white card base using craft foam. Then I added some white Nuvo crystal drops to finish off the card.
Something about masking technique just makes me enjoy the technique and process of creating. It is time consuming but very enjoyable. I just love the end result of this card. Hope you do too. Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. Have a wonderful day!
