Simon Says Stamp Rest and Refresh Release Blog Hop Day #1

June 7, 2019 Simon Says Stamps, Uncategorized

I am very excited to be part of Simon Says Stamp new release this month. This collection is called Rest and Refresh. Gorgeous release as always. I played with three new products from the release. A stencil, a background stamp and a large stamp set. I have two projects to share and both the projects used the same large stamp set for the sentiment. Let’s get started.

Rest-and-Refresh-1080x1080

Hello and I am Gayatri. I am a papercrafter. For today’s blog hop you should have come from the talented gorgeous Heather Hoffman‘s blog. If this is your first stop, then do not worry, I will list all the designers participating in today’s blog hop later in the post.

So I have two projects to share with you today. Here is my first one. I used the new Nautical Stencil along with the Say It All stamp set. The Say it all stamp set is a large sentiment stamp with lots and lots of thank you sentiments both big and small. I used the Nautical stencil and sponged a rainbow of colours and stamp the sentiment to make a one layer card.

SSS Girlfriend card1

This is a simple card. I used spray adhesive on my stencil to adhere to the card panel so the thin strips don’t move. Then used distress inks to sponge rainbow of colours in ombre in the middle of the panel where they meet.

Then I stamped the sentiment from Say It All stamp set in versafine Onyx Black to stamp in the centre of the panel. I love the contrast of the sentiment against the colourful nautical background. I trimmed the panel to 4″x 5.25″ in size but then there was white space on top and bottom of the panel which did not sit well against white card base. So I trimmed the white spaces on top and bottom and adhered a strip of black glitter cardstock to tie un the black sentiment. A few jewels to finish off the card.

Supplies:

For the second card, I used the new Round and Round background stamp on my background to make another rainbow coloured card.

SSS Rest and refresh card

So I heat embossed the Round and Round background stamp using white embossing powder and sponged distress inks in rainbow of colour to create the background. A few water splatters to add texture to the background panel.

Then I simply white heat embossed the sentiment from Say It All stamp set on black cardstock, trimmed and adhered to the top centre of the panel. The panel is adhered to the white card base using craft foam. A few Moonshine sequins to finish off the card.
