I have been playing with the new background stamp from Simon Says Stamp called Pretty Peonies. I wanted to create a layered mixed media type background using it. The inspiration came from this gorgeous card by Debby Hughes she made for SSS blog hop. Debby used Daniel Smith watercolours and then MoonStone glimmer paste on the Triangle Blast stencil. I used both distress oxide and distress inks for the background and crackle paste on the stencil.
Hello lovelies, Welcome to my blog. Here is my project I am sharing today.
I started with white heat embossing the Pretty Peonies background stamp on the textured side of distress watercolour paper. Then I smooshed the background panel on Peeled Paint, Mowed Lawn and Luck Clover distress oxide inks. One colour at a time and drying between each colour.
Then I sponged Mowed Lawn, Lucky Clover and Crushed Olive distress inks randomly as I wanted more intense colour to the chalky oxides. I also sponged Forest Moss to add depth to the panel.
Once dry, I used the Triangle Blast stencil and added Crackle paste randomly on the panel on two areas. Also spattered some white paint all over the panel to add to texture on the panel as if there is not enough!
The sentiment is from CZ design Great Things stamp set which I stamped in black ink, die cut using the coordinating die. The smaller sentiment from the stamp set is white heat embossed on a strip of black cardstock. I adhered them on the top centre of the panel using foam adhesives. The panel is adhered to the card base using craft foam.
