February 19, 2019 Simon Says Stamps

When there is a blog hop for a release, I always get amazed looking a projects of designers using the same stamp set and how different the projects are. All the projects are gorgeous and hard to believe that they were all made using the same stamp set. It is amazing to see how different minds think to use a stamp set hence producing different cards. I want to see if I can make two different cards using the same stamp set. So that is what I have for you today in my blog post.

Hello Lovelies, Welcome to my blog post. Hope you are having a lovely Monday! Let me jump straight into the card. I wanted to use Simon Says Stamp‘s Beautiful Flowers 2 stamp set to make my projects today. Only because, I bought the coordinating dies and never got to use them. Gorgeous set and dies. I love all their 8×4 floral stamp sets. Here are both my projects.

The long card is more colourful and the other card is very muted and neutral.

I stamped the large cluster of flowers in Simon’s Intense Black ink and coloured them using copic markers. Then using the coordinating die, I die cut them out. The two single flowers from the stamp set is stamped using white pigment ink on kraft cardstock, dried and die cut using the coordinating die. I coloured these images using Faber Castell white pencil and pink pencil for extra interest.

The background on the colourful card is made using Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade and Dried Marigold distress oxide inks. I then placed Simon’s Marilyn stencil and sponged the same ink heavily to give tone one tone interest to the background. I mounted this panel to the white card base. For the other card, I stamped the leaves images using white pigment ink covering the whole kraft panel. I trimmed this panel to 4×5.25 inches and mounted on white card base using craft foam.

For the colourful card, I simply adhered the large diecut cluster on the middle using foam adhesive. For the other card, I die cut a vellum panel using Wonky Stitched rectangle die as a layer upon which I adhered the three single floral images to form a cluster. I adhered this to the card front using foam adhesive.

The sentiment for both the cards is from the stamp set which I simply stamped in black on a trip of cardstock, trimmed and adhered as shown. A few Nuvo white glossy drops on the neutral card ties in all the white together.

Here are the individual photos and closeups of both the cards.

Here is the second card:

All the supplies used to make both the cards are listed below.

Thank you very much for taking the time to visit my blog today. Have a lovely day!

I agree with you, when a hop is launched by a company it always amazes me the amount of totally different but awesome designs a team can produce from one set of the same stamps. I adore the overdose of creativity . Your cards are absolutely beautiful, two very different but awesome designs. Thank you for sharing & inspiring me.
