A catalogue of Papercraft

You light up my life!

January 8, 2019 Simon Says Stamps

If you have been following me on my social media, you know the holiday season break drained my creativity. I am totally mojoless. Just could not bring myself to make a card. It was frustrating. Until today! I brought myself to make a card this morning. I decided it does not matter how it turns out, I will make a card in full. Not give up half way or walk away. And it did work. Here is the result of my determination and perseverance.

I used the new products from Simon Says Stamp You are Loved collection products. The stamp set is called Always and Forever stamp set. The die is called Windows to my Heart. I started with stamping the light bulb image and colouring using copic markers. It was light and easy to do 😉

Then I had to think about what to do for the background. That was hard considering I had no creativity flowing. It took me for ever to come up with this. I decided to use the Windows to my Heart die but the ink colours for the background was daunting. I sponged four ink colour combination. The first three combination did not work with the light bulb although they were beautiful colours. Finally the warm colours coordinating with the light bulb colours worked. The coloured I used are Barn Door, Abandoned Coral, Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed distress inks.

I used Simon’s Wonky stitched rectangle die to die cut a fog panel and then the Windows to my Heart die to die cut the heart shape windows.I adhered this panel over the sponged background panel using tape adhesives. I clustered three of the light bulb and adhered to the centre left of the panel. The sentiment is white heat embossed on black cardstock, trimmed and adhered as shown. A few white Nuvo cyrstal drops to finish off my card.

I am so happy with this card. Certainly motivated to make more now. It’s a start. Hopefully I can make more cards tomorrow. All supplies used to make the card is listed below.

A bouquet of light bulbs lighting up this card is genius! Great idea and will be fun to make my own version now that I have ‘stolen’ some of your creativity results. Perseverance really paid off for you.
