You are so Special!

Happy Sunday! It has been a very busy weekend. No crafting done. That is sad because I had plans. But hey I have time to blog one of my cards I made last week.

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. Today card share is using Altenew’s new stamp set called Wild Fern stamp set. I love the layering on this stamp set. So I set to play with them. I have also used the dies to make this stamp set. Not in the traditional way like stamping and die cutting the image. But as masks. I have seen a few wallpaper using ferns. I want to recreate it. Here is the card first.

This was like an experiment for me. I wanted to try out making a background which is one layer. So I die cut masks using the Wild Fern dies and masking paper. I randomly adhered these masks on a white panel and burnished using teflon bone folder. Then I conflicted between blue or pink background. I went with blue being safer in the experiment. I sponged Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon distress inks to get depth. Then I removed the masks and stamped the layered ferns using Altenew’s Bamboo, Parrot and Olive inks. I love the one layer background. So beautiful. Looks like wallpaper.

I kept the rest of the card simple by white heat embossing the sentiment from the Leaf Medallion stamp set on to a strip black cardstock and adhered at an angle using foam adhesives. I adhered this finished panel to a white card base using craft foam and embellished using white Nuvo crystal drops.

Now that I love the blue and green background, I want to try muted green and muted pink background for the 60s look. I will try and make a video using those colours. I love love the wild fern stamp set and dies. So much depth to the ferns because of the layering. Love that. Hope you like my little experiment here. All supplies used to make this card are listed below.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today.

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend.

Really beautiful OLC, great masking to use the dies (I don’t like to fussy cut much)! Love those pretty ferns with the blue background.

  3. This is beautiful. I love anything tropical but this one spoke to me as I think I can do something similar!! Love!! Thank you!
