A catalogue of Papercraft

You are Simply the Best!

April 11, 2018 Simon Says Stamps

Sharing my third card using Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Day card kit.

Although this kit is out of stock, all the items in the card kit are available for purchase individually at Simon Says Stamp store.

This is my third card using the kit. I love playing with the pattern paper and the stamp set. Just with the two items in the kit, you can make loads of cards.

This rainbow brush strokes pattern paper is my favourite of the lot. Cutting down the paper to the size of the card front was hard enough for me. I just wanted to hoard it LOL! So kept it to the full size of the card front and then made a cluster of leaves and flowers from the stamp set as my focal point. I actually stamped and coloured a large number of the image from the stamp set in the beginning so I can use them for lots of card. Then I hand cut them out. Two tricks to make hand cutting easy: 1. use Neenah 80 pound cardstock to stamp and colour as the paper is thin and easy to cut out 2. A good pair of snips is essential. I hav Cutter Bee scissors and the spring scissors from Fiskars. Both work well. And always turn the paper and not the scissors while cutting.

The sentiment is simply stamped on a strip of white cardstock, trimmed with fishtail banner and adhered to the middle of the butterfly using foam adhesives. To bring the card together, I used some clear droplet from my stash and glossy accent on the butterfly. I glued this panel on to the blue cardstock base from the kit.

Here are some of the closeups of the card.

All supplies used to make this card are listed below.

Though I like your card, the saying being over the butterfly is unnecessary. It also hides most of the little critter! So, if I try to make this card I will put the saying below the butterfly.

Placing the sentiment below the butterfly will also work Donna! You do what you is best for you:)
