Basic Grey Challenge—Sketch.

This is the Jan 09 Sketch at Basic Grey Challenge Blog.
Gorgeous Sketch for the card.

Here is my take on Basic Grey Sketch Challenge.
I have used Basic Grey Stella Ruby and Ambrosia Ebony papers.
The center piece is a rub on, I bought from Kmart. I have used it on a photo paper then distressed using my Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink and matted using a Creative Imaginations Signature Style Collection from my stash. Ribbons are from my stash too.
All papers are distressed and inked.

Loved making this card that I have made another one using Bo Bunny papers.

Proudly presenting Aditi’s work

Yes, after days of nagging by Aditi to do a layout, I finally gave in….
She could not decide on the papers for a long time.
OMG!! what do u think mommy?
Is green and Pink OK? Or blue and purple?
Well, I want the music paper and the stickers definitely. Which color goes with it?
I had some thousand question couple of nights ago.
Finally, we decided on a yellow Crate Paper with the music paper and a black background.
Next, it took a long time to come to decision on flowers.
Then,all set and ready.
She lost interest and went to play Wii.
Yesterday morning, she wakes me up early and to do what? Finish the layout!!
So we printed the photo and the sketch.
Sketch is by Angie, my friend at Debs,
Then my adhesive runner ran out!! But thankfully I had other adhesives.
I helped her cut the papers. Oh!!! She wanted to distress the edges of the papers as I do!!
She did using Heidi Swapp Distressor.
What happiness? Should see the grin on her face.
After about couple of hours all the distressing was done.
Major confusion on the title. Siddarth suggested “Keyboard and Aditi, Oh NO!!” lol!!!
An argument broke after that. “Its my layout, I will decide what title I will put on it!!!”
I am already worried about these two becoming teenagers.
It took another hour to finalise the title.
Stuck the titles and everything else.
Very happy, Yes I am very happy to have completed the layout.
After all it does not take so much for me to do a layout.
Sometime, I get frustrated, unable to complete a layout and think it is a huge thing?
But it is not, from now onwards.
Now to the good part, I really liked the color combo Aditi chose.
Neat layout actually. I am impressed.
Doesn’t matter if it has taken 2 days to complete it.
Love how she wanted to put lights on the top.
She was willing to write, distress the edges.
Although its a bit slanting , I thought it was nice.
She is proud of it. Thats lovely. Finally thats what matters.
I hope you guys had enough of my rambling……………

Amore

My friend Lexie has set a challenge at Debs.
The rules are to use red, Black, Brown and White colors.
No other colors to be used.
Scrapper can choose their own embellishments and papers and design and photo.
I love the challenge.
Wow, Superb color combo and the flexibility of using papers and embellishment.
I had this Bohemian Red paper with me for a very long time.
I love the paper and its brown damask.
I decided to use it as the base.
The paper has a faint flourish upon which
I hand stitched to highlight the fourish as well as to add texture.
The circular Crate paper is fantastic.
I wanted to make full use of it and felt by using it as a base paper,
it is not possible to get that.
So I cut 1/3 of the circle and again into two pieces.
Now, there is the bigger piece as a layer at the bottom of the photo
and the smaller piece on the top corner to coordinate the larger piece.
The black pp behind the photo is from Bo Bunny, distressed at the edges.
The photo is of my brother and SIL converted into sepia , matted and distressed on the edges.
I did a rough distressing because I wanted some texture in the layout.
The flowers are from 123 scrapbook blossoms, red leaves are from Petaloo,
diecuts and lace from my stash, the centre piece bling is from Prima.
The together tag is from Chiquita my friend from Debs.
I received it from the tag swapp.
Gorgeous isn’t it. Was perfect for this LO.
The three circles are from Creative Imagination paper I had in my stash
which is inked on the edges and decorated with a small white flower
with a red pearl on the top and couple of tiny red diecuts.
There is Love charm hanging from the flowers.
Not seen in the LO. I will change the photo soon.
Title is from K&Co Rhapsody chipboard stickers.
Hope you enjoy reading.
