Basic Grey Challenge #20—Sketch.

This week it is the a sketch challenge at basic Grey challenge blog.
Here is the sketch.

It is basically a card sketch but I wanted to make a layout using this card sketch.
Wanted to do something different.lol!!!
I always want to do something different.
I hate repetition unless it is on a layout or on the wall or garden, which creates an impact.
Thats why I hate ironing. Such boring repetitive job!!

Anyway, Here is my take on the sketch

I have used red card stock as the base and
other papers used here are from Basic Grey –Recess, Bittersweet and Stella Ruby papers
All of them are matted with black paper to highlight their colors.
I normally do not matt papers for a layout
but there is no right or wrong in scrap booking.
And I think it look good!
I have used lots of stamped images on the layout as embellishments.
I stamped the clock stamp from Heidi Stamp on the layout
but the start, arrow and text are stamped on pattern paper and cutout.
Chipboard brackets and tag pieces are inked.
Alphas from Basic Grey Bittersweet range.

Thanks for the sketch.
I loved making this layout using this sketch.
One of my favorite layout.

Yay!! Photo to sketch using photoshop

I have been playing with photo shop yesterday and I must say, I am hooked to it.
Last night, I sat on it until 1.00am and my husband had to drag me to sleep
because I have guest coming for lunch today!!!lol!!!
I woke up early today and been cooking since then.
But I got a little rest and so sat down to blog the edited photos.

This is the recent photo of my kids. I wanted to convert it into sketch and add a border.
I am so used to making layouts from sketch and I wanted to reverse the process.
Here is the result.
I love it.. Very cool!!!
I will start using photo shop more often now that I am comfortable using it and got over the initial fear. Its awesome, just that I will need more time or organise my day better!!

Today is a busy day for me with guests at home and heavy cooking Indian food. School starts on Monday Yay!!! I am so looking forward to it and so are my kids!!

Got to go, another dish and cleaning left.
Will put up today’s menu later.

Have a great weekend

Tamara’s card sketch and the card…

This is the Thursday card sketch at Tamara’s Sketch blog
I discovered this awesome blog for challenges and sketches recently.
Each day there is a different challenge. Love it.

And this is my take on the card sketch.
I have used cuttle bug and embossed the white card stock
and also the pram stamp piece is also cut and embossed using cuttle bug.
I normally go for brights but I made this for my brother and SIL,
who is expecting a baby in April this year. I am pleased with the outcome.
