In the Mood for Colour!

May 14, 2019 Altenew

My daughter has year 12 semester exams this week and next week. So we are kind of busy. She is busy studying and stressing and I am supporting and helping her as much as I can. It is stressful not just for her but for all of us. Poor kid stresses so much. Cannot wait for her exams and her year 12 finals to finish. Today is day #1 of the exam. So if I am not consistent and MIA this week, then this is one of the reason. Second reason is my health update. I am going in for an iron infusion tomorrow for my anemia. I am looking forward to it because I want to be active and motivated, not fatigued, not have breathlessness climbing stair or after having a shower or after doing household chores, not feel dizzy, crave for sugar, have restless leg and stop my hair fall. Fingers crossed!

Hello and welcome to my blogpost. As part of my Altenew Certification Program I have enrolled, I took the In the Mood for Colour class by Stephanie Klauck. Enjoyed it throughly and thank you so much. So here are my projects for the class.

I tried all the colours using the same stamp sets and stencil. In the class, Stephanie did one colour each day and a bonus one with rainbow colours. I love colours. So I did all the colours except the rainbow. All the cards in this set are similar with slightly variation in the placement of the sentiments and the secondary sentiments.

I used A study of Watercolour stamp set, Half Tone Hello stamp set and Grid Stencil to make this set of cards. To add depth to the stamped images, I used Artist Markers in a darker shade. Then I sponged grey ink over the Grid stencil to add interest to the background along with some spatters in white, black and gold.

For the sentiment I used the Half Tone Hello die, the smaller one in black for the larger sentiment. Various secondary sentiment from the same stamp set, white heat embossed on a strip of white cardstock sponged with the respective colour inks below the large sentiment. I varied the placement of the sentiments so there is a slight variation on the cards.

Now grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the individual photos of each of the card.
