SSS April Card Kit card set!

Card kits are great for everyone. I normally do not get card kits. That is because I really don’t work with pattern papers very much. I have loads and loads of pattern papers and it is not used at all. If any of you in Perth want pattern paper, please email me and we can arrange a time for you to come in and take them. In this kit though, the pattern papers attracted me so much. Apart from that I LOVE the stamp set and alcohol pearl inks. So ta da, the Simon Says Stamp April card kit came home to me in my mail.

Hello and welcome to blog. Hope you day is as beautiful as you. I have a set of four cards to share using Simon’s April card kit. I really enjoyed making these. They turned out pretty.

I love floral cards. So making these cards were really enjoyable. I started with stamping and colouring a few of the images from the stamp set in the kit. Then I fuzzy cut them all out. No dies at the moment. Hoping May release will have dies for this set. I added some white highlight details on the flowers using white gel pen.

Then I trimmed all the pattern papers to 4.25″x5.50″ in size. The card front size is more realistic to work with because the patterns on a bigger size generally overwhelm me. I learned this trick from Yana Smakula. Thank you Yana.

I drew few sketches on a paper and picked out four out of them I liked to use. Now using the sketches as guide, I assembled all the cards. For the sentiment, my plan was to stamp them directly on the pattern papers on the card front. I did that for one of the cards. But then I found, stamping on strips of pattern paper, trimming and adhering was easy and I didn’t have to worry about messing stamping directly on the card front even if I have to use MISTI. A few Nuvo white drops to finish off the cards.

A bit of warning: Below is the individual photos of all the four cards and their closeups. So it is photo heavy. Make yourself a cuppa and enjoy.

Hope you like them? So pretty right? I am normally a bright and geometric pattern kind of girl. But these delicate pretty florals and soft colours also catch my eye. There are more pattern papers and glitter paper and alcohol pearls and of course the stamp set left in the kit to use. I can still make another set of four cards using the pattern paper and stamp set like this one. Use the stamp set and alcohol pearls to make another set of cards. Then glitter paper and alcohol pearls to create backgrounds for another set of cards. So this kit is great value for money. I really really love this kit. You can buy card kits at Simon Says Stamp store one off (you got to be early because they sell out super fast) or subscribe to the card kit and you will receive them every month at a discounted price or if you like just the stamp set or the pattern paper or any of the individual items in the card kit, you can buy them at the store too.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. Have a wonderful day!

  1. Dear Gaya
Oh they are so pretty. Love them all. I learnt a tip from you about making card bases. It has given depth too. These days i am looking for different ways to do Birthay cards as my god given gift, my one and only grand daughters 7th Birthday is on August 1st. I dont know whether i will be there or not as they are in NZand I am in Sri Lanka. I hope for amiracle from God. Even if I am not there I want to make it extra special as she is the most kindest caring human being i have ever met. She never asks for anything as she knows how i am supporting them financially single handedly. Oh my daughter is a single mum and i am widow. I work as a freelance journalist and every single penny i earn is sent to them.
But I am very happy as she is studying well and is a very gd girl.Even if my daughter hurts me she never does.
Also crafting and knowing lovely veteran crafters like you makes my life so meaningful and happy. I create with the supplies i have. when i see a new product i add it to my list and move on. Once my daughter graduates this year and srarts to work full time i will be able to buy the products i really need to be a better carfter. My daughter is studying to be a chef. she works part time as well. I would like to have some pattern papers you are willing to give away but since i am in Sri Lanka if you could check the postage for New Zealand and tell me I can deposit that amount in your account and then post it if it is not a hassle for you. I would really appreciate if you can do it for me. I love pattern paper.
At t vhe moment How i buy something is by taking part in challenges and blog hops. wen i am a winner i go to the store and buy the stuff i really want and get it posted. I have been lucky many times. Thank to kind crafters like you.
May all your dreams come true. May you and your family be blessed with gd health and happiness always.Love and hugs Surekha

How many pattern paper packs you like? I can definitely post it to NZ no problems. The postage cost depends on the weight. 500gms costs $11.55aud. If you can email me at we can discuss the details.
Thank you and you have a wonderful day!

Your the same as me, I have a drawer full of papers but never use them!! Love how you coloured the flowers and the layouts look gorgeous with the papers. I thought the papers with the kit were really pretty and I’m tempted to use them myself, now I’ve seen your cards I will definitely use them. Stunning!!
