Wishing you the most beautiful day!

Okay! I am sharing with you another card I made for Altenew’s ACEP level 2 certification program. I took Beyond Basic Background class by Lydia Evans. I love all the lessons in the class but I choose to create my background using dies to create stencil.

Hello and welcome back to my blog. Hope you are having a great day. This card so pretty in person. Was hard to take photo because of the gold foil confetti and gold foil card base. Anyway here is the card.

I used Beautiful Day stamp set and dies on this card. I used the dies to die cut a white scrap piece of cardstock covering the panel completely. This is my diy stencil. Then I placed this diy stencil on top of the white panel and sponged Coral Berry ink. Then I removed the diy stencil to reveal the sponged background. Using the coordinating stamps, I stamped the images in versamark and gold heat embossed them. I love coral colour with gold. I also love mint colour with gold.

I adhered this panel to the gold foil card base. Then added some gold confetti to fill in the dead spaces. I also used grey marker to outline the sponged images to add depth to otherwise flat images.

Sentiment is from Beautiful Day stamp set which I white heat embossed on a strip of panel sponged with Coral Berry and Frosty Pink inks. I layered the sentiment strip with a vellum circle using foam adhesive for dimension.

That is it. I love this technique. Opens up a lot of possibilities with dies. Thank you Lydia for sharing.

Love this stenciled background with your DIY stencil with a die, Gayatri! The color and gold-embossing really match so nicely! The additional vellum adds such a lovely touch, too! Thanks so much for entering your beautiful work in Altenew AECP assignment Gallery. Beautiful colors and design. Well done!

  3. Beautifully done Gayatri!! I can feel your frustration girl, that gold is hard to photograph unless you are standing next to the sun itself gah! But I know how gorgeous it must be in person since it is jaw-dropping amazing right now in photos!!
