A catalogue of Papercraft

Hello Starshine, Just a Note!

March 6, 2019 Altenew

I have been reading about 2019 colour trends lately. I am so drawn towards the earthy colour combination. Colours are mustard, warm purples, sage greens, dusty pinks and teals. The neutrals are either browns or greys. I just love earthy autumn colours. I decided to use a few of them to make a set of cards.

Hello lovelies, Gayatri with you today. My Altenew order arrived late last week. In there was the latest Artist Marker set D and Wonderland Stamp set and coordinating dies. I love the florals in Wonderland stamp set. Very stylish florals and the lines on the florals are perfect for colouring. So I used the earthy colour combination from Set D markers and a few older markers to colour these gorgeous florals to make these two cards.

For the flowers, I used the purple and brown markers from the Set D, couple of Orange markers from Set E and Set C and green markers from Set A. I die cut them using the coordinating dies.

The background colour was the hardest to choose. I didn’t want stark contrast, so black, white and brown was out of question. The choice came to grey, teal and sage green. The dusty pink was too warm with those purple flowers. I didn’t have muted teal. Bright teal was too bright for the background. Grey was dull. So I picked the sage green. The cardstock is Spearmint from Taylored Expressions. Its a beautiful muted sage green colour. I used Watercolour Stripes stencil and Altenew Volcano Lake ink to add tone on tone interest to the background. I made two such panels.

I clustered glued the die cuts on both the panels using glue and foam adhesives as shown in the picture. Using MISTI I stamped the sentiments also from the Wonderland stamp set using Altenew Crisp Black ink. I adhered these panels on card bases. Finally added a few white glossy drops from Nuvo to finish off the cards.

Here are photos of the individual cards and closeups.

Gorgeous flowers. The sage green for the background makes it even more beautiful.
