A catalogue of Papercraft

Sending Lots of LOVE!

December 3, 2018 Taylored Expressions

While all of you are busy with Christmas cards and preparations, I was busy with making Valentine’s day cards. Yes! Valentine’s Day inspirations already guys. I am super ahead and organised. 🙂

Hi and welcome to my blog. From today for the next four days I will be sharing Taylored Expressions December release sneak peeks. They are all Valentine themed products. So it is going to be a refreshing change from all the Holiday themed cards you have been seeing in the Cardmaking World.

I have two products to showcase every day. The first product I will be showcasing is called Big Heart stamp set. This a  beautiful big detailed heart stamp which can be used on its own as well as stamped multiple times to create the background. Very versatile and can be used for various occasions.

I have combined this stamp with the new Caps Lock LOVE die and Caps Lock Companion LOVE stamp set to make my card.

And here is my card.

I smooshed some TE liquid watercolours in Lollipop, Guava and Plum Punch on top half of a TE watercolour panel. Then stamped the image twice on top of the watercoloured area on the panel using TE Oreo hybrid ink. Then I coloured the Big Heart images using the same shades of copic markers as in the background. This basically makes the hearts pop out of the background. Then I spattered the panel with Copic Opaque white, gold and Oreo liquid watercolour and left the panel to dry.

I then worked on the sentiment. I sponged a Sugar Cube panel with Lollipop, Strawberry Milkshake and Pink Champagne TE dye inks and die cut the Caps Lock LOVE die on the panel. This give a nice ombre to the sentiment die cut. I then die cut a few more of the sentiment, stacked glued for dimension. To add shadow, I die cut the sentiment using Earl Grey cardstock and glued behind slightly off set. Finally I used TE liquid shimmer to add shimmer to the die cut sentiment. The secondary sentiment from Caps Lock Companion Love stamp set is gold heat embossed on to a strip fo Oreo cardstock using TE gold embossing powder.

To assemble the card, I trimmed the watercolour panel to 3.75″ to 5.50″ in size, added a strip of gold glitter cardstock to the bottom of the panel. I adhered the sentiment LOVE on the bottom of the panel and the secondary sentiment strip on top of it using foam adhesive. On the card base, I added a strip of black and white pattern paper on the bottom of the card front. This pattern paper is from TE Playful Pattern Black and White 6×6 paper pack. That it! The card is finished.

Here are some closeups of the card.

Here are the supplies used to make this card.

Supplies:

My second project(s) showcases a new cutting place called Framed Roses Cutting Plate. This is a very beautiful cutting plate with a rectangle cut out in the middle. I paired this cutting plate with the new Framed Script Love die.

I used the cutting plate in a different way than what it is meant for traditionally. I picked up GoPress and Foil machine recently from my local craft store on sale. So I wanted to desperately try foil pressing cutting plates using the machine. To my surprise, it turned out so beautiful. Here they are

For the first card, I used gold heat activated foil on the Framed Roses cutting plate to foil press on Sugar Cube cardstock. On the second card, I used Pink heat activated foil to do the same. Then I trimmed both the panels, rubbed versamark on the edges of the panels to heat emboss the edges. For the gold foiled panel, I used TE gold detailed embossing powder and for pink foiled panel, I used the TE Rose Gold detailed embossing powder.

Love the foil details of the Framed Roses cutting plate on the panel. To keep it as the highlight, I kept the rest of the panel simple. I die cut the Framed Script Love die TE gold foil cardstock and Fruit Punch cardstock and adhered to the centre of the panels. The two panels are foam mounted on Fruit Punch and Pink Champagne card base. I embellished the card using gold and pearl Stickles.

Here are some of the closeups.

All supplies used to make these cards are listed below.

Supplies:

What do you think of both my projects for today? I love the pop of colour on the first one and the elegant simplicity of the second one.
