Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday for Taylored Expressions day #1 sneak peek of the October release. Today is day #2 sneak peek. I have two projects to share today using two new projects. The first one is a stamp set called Sea Sand Santa. Not everyone in the world celebrate white Christmas. I live in the southern hemisphere and Christmas here is during summer. This stamp set is perfect for those living in the tropical and southern hemisphere.
I have combined the images from Sea Sand Santa stamp set with the new Build a Scene: Snow Drifts dies to create a summer beach Christmas scene. I stamped the images using TE Oreo hybrid ink and coloured them using copic markers. Then using the coordinating die, I die cut them out.
I sponged a Sugar Cube panel with Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch distress inks in ombre and spattered with water for texture. Similarly, I sponged another Sugar Cube panel with Gathered Twigs and Vintage Photo distress inks and spattered with water. Once dry, I die cut this panel using two of the three snow drifts die . I adhered these two sand layers on the bottom of the blue sponged panel. Then I adhered the palm tree, Santa and surfboard as shown. The sentiment from the same stamp set is white heat embossed on a strip of Oreo cardstock, trimmed and adhered on the top right side of the panel. Then entire panel is adhered to the white card base using foam adhesive and embellished with TE confetti sequins. I also added some glossy accents to the glasses, flower centres and the lights on the palm tree.
The second card showcases a stencil called Nordic Snowflakes This is a beautiful stencil to add interest to the background of a card using variety of techniques. I used Sugar Cube white pigment ink on the new Blueberry card base to make this card.
I made a card base out of the new Blueberry cardstock. This is a gorgeous bright ink blue and the white pigment ink sponged over the Nordic Snowflakes stencil is beautiful with high contrast. But I wanted to soften the background a bit. So I sponged the white pigment ink on the edges of the card front not all the way inside but fading towards the centre.
I used some old and some new stamp set and dies to added a cluster of layers on the card. The veelum layer is a white heat embossed wreath from Simply Said Wreath stamp set. I die cut the wreath using the coordinating die. Then I used one of the die fro Holiday Florals stamp set to die cut five pieces using gold glitter cardstock for the second layer. The third layer is the reindeer from the new Woodland Silhouette 1 die which I die cut using TE gold foil cardstock. I adhered this die cut using foam adhesives and layers below using glue. The sentiment is from Simply Said Christmas stamp set which I white heat embossed on the Blueberry cardstock, trimmed and sponged the edges with Sugar Cube pigment ink. I adhered this piece below the reindeer using foam adhesives. Finally I added a few confetti sequins in blue, pink and white to add the sparkle to the card.
