It’s the STAMPtember Party!

September 2, 2018 Simon Says Stamps

Hello everyone,

I am so excited to be participating in Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember party!

This is a month long event with collaboration with other companies well. But today, we are celebrating Simon’s release for STAMPtember at Simon Says Stamp Blog.  Its a huge party with lots and lots of designers participating in it. So make your self some time, a cuppa and get inspired!

I have a birthday card to share using the new Birthday Numbers stamp set. This is a fun 6×8 stamp set and there is coordinating die to go with it too.

Since I do not have the coordinating dies for the stamp set yet with me, I decided to make an one layer card using the Birthday Numbers stamp set. I die cut a circle using masking paper and Simon’s largest stitched circle die to mask the centre of the card panel. I have used Neenah 80 lbs carstock here cut to the size of the card front.

Then I used the three largest image from the stamp set, the gift box, cupcake and balloon cluster to stamp randomly around the rest of the panel making sure some of the images overlap the masked circle as well as the edge of the panel. I filled in the larger empty space with the party hat and rest of the space with the heart shapes and dots from the stamp set. I used Simon’s Intense Black ink to stamped the images because I copic coloured the images. I chose three shades of each colours to add depth and shading. Love the rainbow of colours on the background. I removed the mask before I coloured the images as colours sometimes will bleed through the masking paper into the paper below. I don’t want that to happen. Using  Nuvo shimmer pen, I added shimmer to all the coloured images. Once dry, I used white sakura gel pen to add highlights to coloured images. I also added drop shadow to the images using cool gray copic markers.

Inside the masked circle, I stamped the sentiments. The number 10 with the smaller sentiment on top and bottom. All of them are from the Birthday Numbers stamp set. Here I used Mini MISTI to get the positioning correct and straight as well. I coloured the number 10 using pink and orange copic markers. I will be giving this card to my niece for her 10 birthday.

To make the centre masked area stand out, I used black fineliner to add stitching detail. This makes the centre pop as well as ties in with the stitched detail on the numbers. I glued this panel on a white card base and finally added some glossy accents to the heart shapes as well as the sprinkles on the cupcakes.

Love bright and colourful cards. Perfect to start the party! Throughout the month STAMPtember Simon Says Stamp will be celebrating every day posting exclusive collaborations, contests, prizes, special promotions, announcements, and more surprises! Simon’s blog will announce what is planned every day. Make sure you visit Simon’s Blog every day to see and participate in the celebratory events.

I have listed all the supplies used to make this card towards the end of this post. Then I also have a special code for a free gift with you STAMPtember purchase.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today to celebrate with my Simon Says Stamp 2018 STAMPtember party! Happy Shopping and crafting!
