Welcome back! I have a halloween card to share with you today. This card is a shadow box card inspired by a video Jennifer McGuire shared recently. I don’t generally try elaborate cards. This shadow box card is elaborate for me but being a visual person and watching Jennifers video, I decided to give it a go. The products I have used to make this card are from the latest Taylored Expressions release. Here is the card first.
Here is the inside of the card.
The new products I have used to make this card are TE Cutting Edge Ghosts, Caps Lock BOO die, Tombstone Trio die, Bare Trees background stamp and Frayed Edge Stacklets.
If you want to know how to make the box card, Jennifer shows it all well in her video. Here is the link to her video.
For the background panel inside the box, I sponged Eggplant, Jelly Donut, Plum Punch, Sweet Potato Pie and Candy Corn TE inks on a Sugar Cube panel. Then I stamped the Bare Trees Background stamp using Oreo hybrid ink using MISTI, followed by Versamark and clear heat embossed the image.
I sponged another panel using the same inks, die cut the panel using the second Frayed Edge die for the card front. The sentiment is from Cutting Edge Ghost stamp which I white heat embossed on heavy weight vellum die cut using another of the Frayed Edge stacklet die.
Then I stamped the ghost images from Cutting Edge Ghosts stamp set, copic coloured the images, die cut the smaller images and hand cut the main image to embellished the inside and out side of the card. For the inside sentiment, I die cut the three tomb stones from Tombstone Trio die, sponged with Eggplant and Sweet Potato Pie inks. Then die cut Caps Lock BOO die, sponged the die cut with Granny Smith dye ink, brush some shimmer on it before adhering on the tomb stones.
Actually I enjoyed the process of making this card. When I finished it, I loved how it turned out. Maybe there will be more box card coming in the future thanks to Jennifer 🙂 All the supplies used to make this card are listed below.
Have a lovely day!
