Altenew Color Therapy Blog Hop + Giveaway!

July 12, 2018 Altenew

Hello there everyone,

Welcome to Altenew Color Therapy Blog Hop!

This hop features Altenew’s Artist Markers. So all the projects in blog hop has colouring using Altenew’s Artist Markers. If you don’t know already, they are alcohol markers and there are three sets available at the moment. The colors coordinate with Altenew inks. So if you love Altenew inks you will love their artist markers. Not all inks colours come in artist markers but enough shades to cover the basics and the neutral. I love them and have fun colouring with them .

Today, I have two projects to share using the Artist Markers. So pick up a cuppa and enjoy.

My first projects features flowers and leaves from Cherished Memories and Gradient Stripes stamp set.

I stamped, masked and stamped again, repeating the process to make a large cluster on the top of the panel. Keeping the masks in place, I stamped the Gradient Stripes stamp on the bottom of the panel using Altenew’s Black ink.

Then I removed the masks and coloured the images using Altenew’s Artist Markers. I coloured the flowers using Cool Summer, Red Cosmos,Summer Afternoon and Shades of Purple artist markers. I only used three markers starting from lightest. I left out the darkest shade of markers in all the colour sets. I also added dot texture to the petals using the midtone marker pen. Then to make the petals pop, I used the Evening Gray artist maker pen to add drop shadow. I also used this artist marker pen to add a bit of shading in the nooks and crannies. Then I added highlights using Sakura white gelly roll pen. Similarly repeated the process using Green Fields set on the leaves, followed by drop shadow using Evening Gray artist marker pen and highlights using white gelly roll pen.

The black gradient stripes did not stamp well inspite of using MISTI and I did not want to over stamp and saturate the paper. So I filled in the areas where the coverage was not even with the black artist marker pen and also cleaned up the edges with black fine liner pen.

The Happy sentiment is die cut using Altenew’s Fine Alphabet die set and gold glitter cardstock. The secondary sentiment is from Birthday Greetings stamp set which I stamped in ombre using Altenew’s Aqualicious and Teal Cave inks. Some clear droplets to finish off the card. I have listed all the supplies I used to make this card below.

Supplies:

Now for the second project, I went a bit artistic. I used Altenew’s Happy Heart stamp set along with Fine Frames Rectangle Dies.

To colour these images, I used the flicking technique. I love this technique because it adds dimension to the coloured images. I stamped the images twice using Altenew’s black ink.  Coloured the flower images using the Red Cosmos Artist Marker pen set. This time I used all the four shades. The leaves using Green Fields Artist Marker pen set and the flower centre using the Warm Sunshine Artist Marker pen. I die cut the images using the coordinating dies.

For the background, I sprayed a white panel using Altenew’s Gold Metallic ink spray heavier on the top left hand corner to lighter on bottom right. Then I diecut the Fine Frame rectangle die using gold foil cardstock and adhered on the top left slightly towards the centre of the sprayed panel. Then I clustered the coloured image die cut and adhered them on the top left corner of the frame flowing down to the bottom of the frame. Some of the die cuts are glued down to the panel and some using foam for dimension.

The sentiment is from Painted Greetings stamp set which I white heat embossed on a strip of black cardstock and adhered on the bottom right corner of the frame. Finally to finish the card, I added some pearl diamonds and brushed clear shimmer on the flowers.

I have listed all the supplies I used to make this card below.
