Today I am sharing a card I enjoyed making. This gorgeous stamp set from Simon Says Stamp called Beautiful Flowers is seriously beautiful. I was waiting for this stamp set to arrive in the mail and I was like swoon… How gorgeous is that flower cluster? I could not wait to colour the image. I shared a sneak peek of my coloured image on my Instagram. Again this photo received great response. Thank you very much. Today, I am sharing my card made using the coloured image.

I channeled my inner Kelly Latevola to make this card. I smooshed Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and Twisted Citron distress oxide inks on the right side of a bristol smooth cardstock panel. I smooshed over three layers of distress oxide inks drying in between the layers. I also spattered the same distress oxide inks on the panel. Once the panel dried, I stamped the gorgeous floral cluster on the right side of the panel using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink. I used MISTI to stamp the image twice to get good even coverage.

I then used copic markers and added shading to the images on the cluster. The colour on the images is determined by the colours of distress oxide on the background.  This image is very detailed and there is very little I did in terms of colouring to achieve depth and highlights on the images. For the highlights, I used sakura white gelly roll pen. I am so happy with how the colours turned out.

I trimmed the panel slightly, added a strip of gold glitter cardstock. Before adhering to the black card base, I stamped the sentiment from another stamp set called Hello There. I used MISTI to stamp the sentiment twice to get good coverage. Finally, I added a few white Nuvo crystal drops to tie in the card together. The black card base ties in the black sentiment and the black outline of the floral image.

So happy how this card turned out. Not my typical brightly coloured card. These colours are a bit muted giving an overall vintagy feel. All supplies used to make this card are listed below.
