How is the week going for you? I am a busy with making projects for releases coming next week. But today I am sharing couple of floral cards with you. These are couple of projects, I am so thrilled to share with you. These cards are inspired by the new Altenew’s Floral Flurries washi tape. I used this tape as the background and used the colours from the florals in the washi tape for the focal point. The stamp set I used for the focal point is called Frosted Garden stamp set and coordinating die. Make your self a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy the projects.
Basically I applied the Floral Flurries washi tape on white card stock and trimmed one panel to 4″ x 5.25″ and the other to 4.25″ x 5.50″. At this point in time, I didn’t know what to do with the panels. I had made these panels few days ago. They were sitting on my desk. Then this morning, I looked at them again and had a light bulb moment. I love the colours of the floral on the washi tape, why not use those colours to stamped floral images for the focal point? So I rummaged through my Altenew stash and found the Frosted Garden stamp set and coordinating dies to use.
To get the watercolour floral image using the stamp set, I used distress inks in Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserve, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss colour to stamp on the images, spray water using mini mister and stamp on Bristol smooth paper. Wow! I loved the result. Gorgeous watercolour floral images just like the ones on the washi tape. Pleased with the result, I die cut them using the coordinating dies. I had enough die cut images to make two cards. I made two floral clusters using the die cuts.
Using Simon’s Wonky Stitched rectangle dies, I die cut two white cardstock panels. One large and another smaller. To assemble the cards, I adhered the two background washi panels on white card base. I adhered the wonky stitched rectangle die panels on top of the background panels using foam adhesives. Then the cluster of flowers on the white wonky stitched panels using foam adhesives again. So lots of dimension on both the cards. The sentiment from the Frosted Garden stamp set is white heat embossed on strip of white cardstock, trimmed and sponged with Abandoned Coral and Picked Raspberry distress inks. These sentiment strips are adhered on each of the card using foam adhesives. Finally, a few clear droplets scatter over the panel to complete the cards.
Here are the closeups of both the cards.
I am absolutely love the colour combination, the dimension, the floral cluster complementing the washi on the background and white space of the wonky stitched panel. Well, the whole card actually. Lol! Hope you do too. All the supplies used to make these cards are listed below.
Thanks very much for stopping by! Have a lovely day!
