Oh hello everyone,
I have couple of Valentine’s day cards to share with you. The stamp set I used is called Love Makes the World Go Round from Taylored Expressions. Unfortunately this stamp set is no longer available for purchase. I wanted to use older stamp sets to make cards this year. Usually the older sets gets neglected and just sit inside the cupboard. My goal this year is to use older sets as much as I can and give them much needed love. You can use the colouring on kraft using colour pencils technique or the layout of my cards as your inspiration and use your own stamp set to make yours. You know what I mean! Here are my cards.
I just wanted to colour using Prisma Color Pencils on Kraft cardstock today. So I just picked an older stamp set to colour, stamped the images on Kraft card stock and simply went to town colouring them. I don’t use gamsol to blend but just layers and layers of soft colouring to get a good blend. Great to spend a few hours of me time colouring. I feel this year will be a bit relaxed for me compared to a chaotic and stressful last year. And I love how the colour shows on kraft cardstock. I added some details using Sakura white gel pen.
For the background, I masked the images and sponged Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink and spattered copic opaque white. The sentiment is black heat embossed below the coloured image. I could have just adhered the panel to a card base and called it a day. But to step it up a bit, I die cut the coloured panel using Taylored Expressions Inside Out Scallop Rectangle Stacklet die. The outer frame I adhered using foam adhesives and the inner panel is adhered flush on Lollipop card base. Then I embellished the card front using TE Sweetheart sequins. The centre of the sequins is filled with Nuvo White Blizzard crystal drops.
I am sure you have lots of stamp sets in your stash to use to colour using pencils. Try and give some older sets some love this year. Except for the stamp set and colour pencils, all of other products are available from Taylored Expressions store.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Have a lovely weekend.
